Laura Hinton, ChFC


Laura is the president of Hinton Financial Consultants. She has been in the financial industry since 1985.

Her focus is developing and providing fee based financial planning for executives, business owners, entrepreneurs and professionals. Together, Laura and her clients structure a coordinated financial plan designed to help businesses and individuals achieve their goals and enhance the accumulation and retention of wealth.

She received her degree from the University of Montevallo and her Chartered Financial Consultant designation (ChFC) from the American College. In 2007, she was profiled as one of the area’s leading financial professionals in the Birmingham Business Journal’s “Finance on the Move” special section.

In her personal life, Laura enjoys taking on new challenges. She is an avid runner who has competed in numerous marathons. She participated in a 150 mile bicycle ride to benefit Multiple Sclerosis as well as a bicycle ride through Montana and Wyoming.  She explored the southwestern United States on a 2,300 mile motorcycle trip. She has successfully pursued challenging sports as diverse as snow skiing, skydiving, camping, hiking, and scuba diving. Laura is successful in everything she does because she sets realistic goals for herself and then develops a strategic plan to achieve her goals. She uses the same planning and disciplines in her work with clients to help them reach their personal financial goals.

Community Involvement

Laura has also been an active member of her church, St. Paul’s Catholic Church, where she served on the Parish Council for two three year terms and a Eucharist Minister for five years.
